Annual Multimedia Award 2016: Gold für Triplesense Reply

Designing the future of Cities and Mobility

With URBAN HUB, Triplesense Reply created an international online magazine for the experts who are shaping the future of cities and mobility. Enthusiasts are invited to share their ideas and experiences on Smart Cities and Smart Mobility.

The elaborately designed interactive magazine offers opulent multimedia content on spectacular construction projects, innovations in urban development and background data on urbanization.

The result is a new form of communication: thyssenkrupp has established URBAN HUB as an independent brand and positioned itself as an opinion leader for urban concepts of the future.

The Challenge

Many large cities are already struggling with traffic jams, air pollution and rapid growth. Futurologists and urban planners are working on ambitious concepts for ‘Smart Cities’ to cope with the increasing urbanization and development of megacities. For example, they use new technologies and renewable energies to make urban life greener, more liveable and more sustainable. ThyssenKrupp Elevator is already promoting such concepts through forward-looking approaches to urban and vertical mobility.

Our Solution

Triplesense Reply, together with ThyssenKrupp Elevator designed the international storytelling platform ‘URBAN HUB’. Initially, Triplesense Reply developed the content strategy, the UX concept and the responsive design for an optimal user experience of the platform. The technical implementation was based on WordPress, for which Triplesense Reply provided its own theme with an adapted backend.

With large format images, animations, infographics and videos, urban-hub.com tells stories about innovative projects, technical innovations and groundbreaking ideas for the cities of tomorrow. The spectrum of topics ranges from an experience report on the installation of elevators in New York’s One World Trade Center (1WTC), innovative elevator technologies that use magnetic drives to hurry vertically and horizontally through mega skyscrapers, to novel pedestrian transportation systems that enable better networking of public transportation. These exciting stories are told from the perspective of the people behind the technology, providing a unique insight into visions and their implementation.

URBAN HUB offers ideas and solutions for “Smart Cities” to make life in growing cities more liveable. And it invites all interested people to share their own visions about urbanisation, mobility and future technology. Excitingly prepared facts and a regular supply of exciting stories keep the fans in the loop.
